The Experience

Traveling as a family always comes with its unique set of challenges, but finding a destination that balances fun for the kids with relaxation for the adults can make all the difference. For our latest international adventure, we headed to the Hyatt Regency Danang in Vietnam, a resort that quickly became one of our favorite family-friendly getaways. From spacious accommodations to activities that kept everyone entertained, this trip was a perfect mix of comfort, adventure, and cultural exploration.

Whether we were lounging by the pool, exploring Hoi An’s vibrant streets, or biking through the countryside, every moment offered something memorable. The resort’s thoughtful amenities, paired with the charm of Vietnam’s local culture, made this trip stand out. If you’re planning a family getaway to Vietnam, here’s everything you need to know about the Hyatt Regency Danang and the adventures that await nearby.

Hyatt Regency, Danang

We stayed in both the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom Residences, located on the "Kids Club" side of the resort. These spacious accommodations were perfect for our family of four. The 2-bedroom Residence offered two queen-sized bedrooms, an L-shaped couch, and cozy swivel chairs that let us enjoy either the ocean view or family time indoors. The kitchen was well-equipped, with seating for six at the table and additional counter space for two. The 1-bedroom Residence, while smaller, still provided a queen-sized bed, a three-seater couch, and plenty of dining space for four. Both residences featured full-sized showers, bathtubs, and all the bedding essentials we needed upon request. If you’re hoping to enjoy stunning ocean views, I recommend requesting a room on Level 5 or above.

Prime Location and Scenic Surroundings

The Hyatt Regency Danang is perfectly situated just 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Hoi An. Its beachfront location on the China Sea provides soft sand and playful waves—not quite surf-worthy but enough to keep older kids entertained (and a bit too much for toddlers). With easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options for around 170,000 VND each way, exploring the area is a breeze.

Family-Friendly Facilities

The resort boasts three pools, each catering to different ages and preferences. Our kids loved the shallow sections and sandy beach entry, while the inflatable obstacle course near the Kids Club provided endless excitement. For outdoor fun, the playground with a zipline, swings, and a climbing wall was a big hit. Indoors, the arcade near the Baguette café was a favorite, offering free games, foosball, and more. While the Kids Club wasn’t particularly impressive, it still had art activities that entertained our younger ones.

Dining Options for All Tastes

We started most mornings and wrapped up many evenings in the Regency Club, where happy hour offered free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was a relaxed affair, with a combination of buffet-style options and made-to-order eggs and breads. While the food at the Italian and seafood restaurants was identical in terms of selection, each had a unique layout. The kids loved the buffet’s special corner, which featured pancakes, waffles, veggies, and the highlight—a chocolate fountain with marshmallows!

Exploring Hoi An: Food and Bike Tours

For our first morning, we skipped the hotel breakfast and joined a four-hour food tour in Hoi An. While it was a bit long for our youngest, the experience was a fantastic introduction to the region’s cuisine and helped us decide what to order during the rest of our trip. On day three, we opted for a bike tour, which turned out to be the highlight of our holiday. The tour offered stops for local experiences, like making rice paper, weaving mats, and trying fruit and local wine. The kids loved riding along in their special seats and pull-alongs, and the slower pace let us truly appreciate the countryside.

Make a Day Out of It

Staying at the Hyatt Regency Danang puts you close to incredible adventures, from wandering the lantern-lit streets and markets of Hoi An to exploring the breathtaking Marble Mountains with their caves, pagodas, and coastal views. Prefer to stay nearby? Relax on the resort’s beach or join activities like yoga or cooking classes to add a fun twist to your day.
