Fami Furniture Shopping at Ashley’s
Claire finds fun in the kids section:)
The Experience
Ashley Furniture is a massive warehouse packed with American-sized furniture, making it a go-to spot for anyone looking to furnish their home. When we moved back to Tokyo, we were thrilled to discover that Ashley’s had recently opened a location in Yokohama. It was exactly what we needed, with the couches and beds we had been searching for. One thing we quickly learned, though, is how important it is to measure your space beforehand! Furniture can look deceptively small in the warehouse but might feel much larger once it’s in your home—especially a Tokyo home.
The selection is fantastic, with everything from living room sets and bedroom furniture to a great variety of American-sized mattresses. Some items, like couches and mattresses, are available for immediate shipment, while others, like our bed frame, required a few months' wait.
Kid-friendly
Shopping with kids? No problem! Ashley’s makes it easy with a charming children’s section featuring a wooden train set, a dollhouse, and plenty of cushions to keep little ones entertained. There’s also a TV playing cartoons, although it’s in the living area rather than the kids’ corner. And here’s the sweetest touch—they’ll even bring out juice boxes for your kids! It’s small details like this that make the experience so much more enjoyable for families.
Make a day out of it
